Using Scheduled Myriad Tasks To Repeat An Hour From The Log

Myriad v6.4.2 brings with it the exciting new Scheduled Myriad Tasks feature which greatly simplifies the process of setting up tasks that need to be performed regularly by your Myriad system.

Previously, performing scheduled tasks required you to create a command script and then use the Windows Task Scheduler to trigger that command via the command line processor application.

This works fine if you are comfortable writing scripts and scheduling .BAT files to trigger them, but it can be a steep learning curve is you are new to it.

The Scheduled Myriad Task feature removes the need to use Windows Task Scheduler as common tasks can now be added and scheduled directly within Myriad Playout.

So let’s take a look at how to access this new feature.

In Myriad Playout (v6.4.2 or higher), click on Settings Menu > Scheduled Myriad Tasks option.

This opens the Scheduled Myriad Tasks window which lists all the current tasks and allows you to add new tasks.

To add a new task, click on the Add Tasks button to see a list of available tasks.

You will see an extensive list of options to choose from. Each option on the list opens different configuration window with the appropriate parameters for the task.

In this example, lets copy an hour in the Log to another hour in the Log.

Choose the Copy Station Log Hours option.

Start by adding a Title then set the Task Parameters.

In this simple example, we will take the Log from 7am for 2 hours, and copy into the 10pm (22:00) position on the same day.

Tip: As Myriad cannot import into hours that contain schedule, you will need to ensure that you either leave the target hours unscheduled or create a separate Schedule Myriad Task to unscheduled the target hours, this task would need to be scheduled to run before the task that copied the hours.

Next, switch to the Schedule tab and set the best schedule recurrence option.

In the example above, we will schedule this task to run every day at 10:15am. This ensures the Breakfast show is finished and all Log Items are copied to the later position in the Log.

Remember that this is only copying Log items so it will include all Songs, Links, Voice Tracks etc but not presenter links in a live show.

Click on OK to save the new Scheduled Myriad Task. You will now see your new task listed.
