Upgrading from Aiir PlayoutONE to Myriad v6

Modified on Tue, 24 Sep at 12:55 PM

Introduction

Upgrading from PlayoutONE to Myriad v6 is relatively straight forward and uses the same Upgrade Utility application that you would use to upgrade from Myriad Playout v4. This application is installed with the main Myriad Playout installer, and more information about using it can be found in this related article.

What is imported:

Category names:

If you are running PlayoutONE v4 or v5, then the Upgrade Utility will import the Category names for your Songs and Links prior to importing the audio items.

Audio:

The Upgrade Utility will import all available Audio files that are listed in your PlayoutONE database, and import as much metadata (e.g. title/artist etc.)

From Myriad Playout v6.3.3 onwards, it will also import Copyright information from PlayoutONE v4 and v5 databases.

Prior to importing the P1 Audio, you may need to alter your P1 Type names to get the best from this feature. Myriad Playout v6.3.3 increases the Type namemapping to support many more possible values.

Myriad maps P1 "Types" to Myriad's top level Media Item Types (Song, Advert, Link, Voice etc.) using the following cross-reference:

  • Songs: "Song", "Music", "Songs"
  • Links: "Jingle", "Beds", "Links", "Idents", "Ident", "ID", "Production"
  • Links set as Sweepers: "Sweeper","Sweepers"
  • Adverts: "Advert", "Ad", "Ads","Commercial", "Commercials"

For example, a P1 Type called "Beds" will be imported into Myriad as a Link item.
