Troubleshooting Issues With Media on Anywhere

Modified on Tue, 24 Sep at 12:45 PM

If you're unable to download, upload, or preview Media Items in Myriad Anywhere, this guide will walk you through the steps to troubleshoot and solve the issue.

Scenario 1: Issue with Media Cache

The most likely cause is that your Media Cache has become corrupt.

This is caused by a bug in Google Chrome, which is also the base for browsers like Microsoft Edge and Opera. Google have unfortunately indicated that this bug is not going to be fixed. It can happen if Chrome crashes whilst you have Anywhere open, or if your computer unexpectedly shuts down.

The fix is straightforward, but do note that it will 'factory reset' Myriad Anywhere. If you are using custom audio devices, you will need to re-select these the next time you log in.

First, click the Padlock symbol on the Address Bar. This will bring up a pop-up with some options. Choose Site settings.

This will bring up the Site settings page.

Finally, press Clear data.

Scenario 2: Disk Space On Remote Edit Server

If multiple users are unable to download Media, the most likely cause is lack of free disk space on the PC running Remote Edit Server, or you are out of space on your Media Wall partition.

First, on the PC running RES, click "Computer" from the Start Menu and check if the "C" drive has a red meter showing free space. If the meter is red, this indicates that you need to free up some space by deleting old files.

If there's plenty of space available for RES, check the Media Wall partition. To do this, find "Computer" on the Start Menu of the computer with your media folder/your NAS/storage server, and check to see if the lettered drivers have enough space.
