Configuring Per-Station and Per-Hour User permissions in Myriad Playout

Modified on Tue, 24 Sep at 12:46 PM

Introduction

Myriad Playout v5.27 introduces new security permissions to control which hours, in which Stations (and in which Myriad Database) a user can make changes to.

This security applies to Myriad Playout, Myriad Anywhere and Myriad RVT.

It doesn't apply to Myriad AutoTrack because a user that has access to AutoTrack has a much greater level of access across the board.

Note: Myriad RVT users will need to updated to v5.27 or higher to have the per-hour security options fully applied.

Important Note: If a user has the "Can edit Myriad Database settings" permission then they always have permissions to edit every hour regardless of the hour ranges below.

Configuring User Permissions

To edit the permissions for a user, in Myriad Playout, click on Security Menu > User Management.

Locate the user you want to set permission for. Double click on the user to open their Contact Card and switch to the Security Settings Tab where you will see the new Allowed Stations/Hours section:

By default, users are allowed to "access and edit any Scheduled Log hour... ", so click the User can only access these stations option to enable the panel, then click the Add button the right hand side to Add another allowed hour.

This will ask you which station you want to add a permission for, select the station and click OK. You will then see the Edit Allowed Station Hours window:

At this point, if you click OK you will see that the user has been granted "View only" permissions to this station - that means they can see it in Select Station windows, and can scroll around the log, but cannot make any changes to the scheduled log.

In our example below, we have selected that this presenter should be able to edit the lunchtime show (12:00 to 14:59), as well as a show on Sunday mornings from 09:00 to 09:59. To do this, just click and drag to select which hours or hour ranges the user should be able to edit:

Click OK and this selection will be added to the users security settings:

We can now double click on any of these to edit, or highlight and use the Remove button to remove any hour ranges.

If you need to add hours for another station, just click the Add hours button and select accordingly. In this screenshot, the presenter also presents a late night show on Hot Xtra:

Once you have finished making changes, click the Save button on the ribbon at the top, and the changes will take effect from the next time the user signs in.
