Updating Broadcast Radio software to the latest release

Introduction

Upgrading a Broadcast Radio product such as Myriad Playout, Logging , or AutoTrack etc. is very simple, and is usually only a few seconds work.

Process

The process itself is a simple 4 step process:

1. Download each installer for the Broadcast Radio products you have installed on all PC’s from https://www.broadcastradio.com/myriad-5-playout-support#Download as you will need to upgrade all software on each PC to the same version.
2. Close each piece of software just before you run the installer, run the installer all the way through to the end and click “Finish”.
3. Re-open the software and carry on as normal.
4. The "Version History" document will automatically open in a web browser telling you about the fixes and new features.

All settings will automatically be kept from your previous installation, and you should read the Version History so you are aware of the changes.

Automatic Update

Starting with Myriad Playout v5.22 there is a "Check for updates" menu option on the Help menu that will automatically check for any new updates that are available and prompt to automatically download and install them for you.

The same feature was also added to other Myriad Playout related tools such as Remote Edit Server, Remote Voice Tracking, AutoImporter etc. in v5.23.

Note: The Check For Updates feature will only show the latest "fully supported" releases, so will not suggest any Beta versions. Beta versions must be manually downloaded and installed.
