How to make the Scheduled Log react To external hardware triggers

Modified on Tue, 24 Sep at 12:49 PM

Introduction

A requirement stations often have is that Myriad Playout needs to pause log playback and wait until a hardware line is triggered, then play some local content, then return to waiting.

A good example is when taking programming from a satellite feed, where you wait for a hardware trigger, then play a local advert break, then return back to the satellite feed.

The best way to do this is to use a hardware line to trigger a Media Item that contains the commands needed to control that external source as well as set the log going to play the advert break.

The information on how to do this is contained in this video, and below you will see the 2 Media Items attached as Transport Files so you can easily import them into your own MediaWalls to use.
